The Water and Light Business Office is located in the City Hall at 600 Demers Avenue and includes our Utility Billing Department, General Manager, Energy Services Manager and our Accounts Payable and Payroll Department The Commission meetings are also held in City Hall in the Council Chambers on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 8 a.m.
The staff and Commissioners (PDF) of the Water and Light Department strive to deliver excellent customer service and reliable, reasonably priced utilities for the residents of East Grand Forks.
Part of supplying reliable service to our customers is making sure that the lines that deliver the water and electricity to them are in good condition. The East Grand Forks Water and Light Commission realize that in order to achieve this, they must have a multi year capital replacement plan in place. So each year we upgrade a portion of the distribution lines by replacing old water lines with new and replacing old overhead electric lines with new underground lines. This significantly reduces the chance of electric outages due to wind storms and water leaks due to water line breaks.
